Warri Wolves defender,
Upele Charles scored his first ever premier league goal, the defender, making his second league appearance for the Seasiders in the Nigeria professional football league opened the scoring in the 30th minute, when he poked in a corner kick by teammate Egbeta Michael.
Wolves looked set to break off their poor league opener at home as they mounted more pressure on their host dominating possessions and missing opportunities to score again and were hit by a sucker-punch in the 36th minute when Sunshine stars striker Israel Abia created a bit of space for himself and calmly slots to the bottom right corner to get the equaliser for the home side.
Sunshine stars pressed forward looking for a late winner but Wolves rearguard survived the pressure and held firm to make it two league games unbeaten.
Speaking after the match, Wolves’ Technical Adviser, Evans Ogenyi, said he would have love to win the match considering his boys were held to a draw at home last weekend in Warri, and a win at Akure would have helped in boosting the ego and confidence of his players.
He, however, commended the fighting spirit displayed by his team especially the defenders for giving good account of themselves through out the duration of the game.
